Press Days Round up SS16

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

It’s that time of year again where press days roll around and journalists and bloggers alike flock to a myriad of London destinations to view what next season has in store.

Through Seen in the City I was lucky enough to get invited to a number of events and have the chance to see the collections which a mere week ago were being worn on the catwalks. The days are always beautifully and creatively themed, catered and propped, allowing you a chance to immerse yourself in the brands the PR agency are looking after and catch yourself up on the latest news and happenings.
Some of my highlights of this season were:

Arcadia Press Day.

Arcadia are in charge of a number of my favourite brands, including Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Miss Selfridge and Evans, so it was fab to see some of the high street brands that I am so often wearing. Whilst I had swooned over Topshop’s highly coveted Unique SS16 collection which graced the catwalks at LFW in September, it was great to see the High Street stores more accessible mainline offerings. Aztec patterns and beige & white pairings were a prominent forefront in the design of next season, paying homage of what is to come for next Spring and Summer. Miss Selfridge featured lots of lace and crochet in beautiful light colourings as well as some beautiful floral pieces...

French Connection:

Anyone who knows me knows what a huge fan I am of French Connection and we are in for a treat next year. Clean cut tailoring mingled with intricate patterns make up their SS26 collection. A-line skirts, dungarees, denim and light layering are all key features.

M&S

M&S press day was held in One Marylebone and it was great to get a chance to see their new clothing, lingerie and jewellery collections. Their new range pays close homage to the catwalks of LFW however with a more wearable twist. It was clear they were taking note of what women were wearing and will want to wear, come February when the range hits stores. Street style was an evident influence, and there were multiple pieces I cannot wait to get my hands on.

Jacques Vert
Jacques Vert was a beautiful combination of a range of elegant british brands. The collection exuded style, class and charm with a range of beautiful dresses, clean cut tailoring and block colourings. Here are a couple of my favorite pieces.

Ann Summers
Ann Summers was held in the Cuckoo Club down Swallow Lane (insert inappropriate innuendo-fuelled joke here). There were some beautiful light, spring pieces and we got to hear some very exciting news regarding an Ann Summer app coming out next year (watch this space for more info!)
